US-based home networking specialist NuVo Technologies has launched a freestanding version of its Renovia home audio network solution, aimed at custom installers.

Like its predecessor, which was wall-mounted, the new Renovia uses the home’s existing power lines to deliver hi-fidelity audio around the home without the need for additional cables.
The system distributes audio and metadata throughout a home using Powerline Carrier technology and features a compact desktop amp that can be kept out of sight behind furniture or concealed in the ceiling or cabinets.
The Renovia system can be used for up to eight zones, with each zone using one of NuVo’s discreet zone amplifiers and supports a variety of sources for up to six audio outputs. The Renovia Hub contains a dual AM/FM tuner as well as dedicated outputs for the Renovia NuVoDock for iPod. Internet radio is also available.
