New name on the headphone scene Blackbox has launched its first pair of i10 noise-cancelling earphones.
Blackbox is a new brand from New Zealand-based acoustic technology firm Phitek Systems which made its name with a unique Active Noise Rejection technology for airlines.

The company claims a UK first in powering the earphone’s noise-cancelling properties directly through Apple’s 30-pin dock connector rather than via a separate battery.
The ANR noise-cancelling technology is claimed to cancel 92 per cent of background noise by intelligently measuring the noise field in the ear, before calculating and reintroducing an ‘anti-noise’ response.
Neil Truckell, UK Brand Manager of Blackbox said: “Through its Active Noise Rejection technology, the i10s are the first earphones to operate without the need for external batteries and provide the ultimate upgrade path for iPod/iPhone users.”
The Blackbox i10 earphones come with a slide volume control plus three sizes of in-ear grommets and are available now for £80.
