Redditch-based AV furniture manufacturer Integrated Entertainment Systems (IES) has announced its range of ‘mi-hub’ TV stands with integrated home entertainment technology including DVD player, iPod dock, radio, clock and speakers.
Both the Quantum and Opus (pictured) mi-hub stands can support up to 60in TVs and include 1080p HDMI upscaling DVD player, iPod dock, radio, clock and a set of speakers that deliver cinema quality sound.
The stand connects to the TV via its analogue stereo outputs, and any other accessories such as satellite receiver or game consoles can then use the audio features built into the stand, which include six bass-mid drivers at the front and a brace of subwoofers at the sides.
Other features include Dolby digital AC-3 surround sound decoding, MP3 playback via a 3.5mm mini jack and a karaoke function through two microphone sockets. There’s also an SD/MMC card slot and USB input for viewing pics or films (DivX, Xvid and MPEG4 files are supported).
Ian Jukes, MD of IES said: “mi-hub was born out of a need to simplify, tidy and reduce the entertainment units I had attached to my TV set. By creating a TV stand with multi-function capabilities I could save space and reduce the visual cable clutter. We’re looking forward to adding further technical specs to future units.”
Both models are available in black or white finishes with prices ranging from £400 to £460 depending on configuration.
