Brit speaker firm Kudos has announced that its entry-level X2 loudspeaker is now in full production.
The floorstanding speaker is the first of a new range designed to incorporate elements of the higher end Cardea range at a lower price.
The real wood veneer cabinet is manufactured in the UK from 18mm HDF (high density fibreboard) which has been tuned specifically to minimise cabinet colouration and time smear. The reflex port is situated on the bottom of the cabinet with the plinth providing a fixed boundary gap for optimal reflex loading of the drive units, as well as providing additional stability.
The 150mm paper cone bass/midrange driver and 25mm fabric dome tweeter are manufactured exclusively for Kudos by Norwegian specialists SEAS and use bespoke crossover components from Clarity Caps and Volt. The dynamic range is 30Hz-25kHz with power handling of up to 150 watts.
The Kudos X2 is available now for £1,350 in a choice of black, cherry, maple, oak, rosenut, walnut or white finishes. It comes with a ten-year guarantee as standard.
