Creative has unveiled four new Bluetooth wireless speaker systems as part of its ‘pure wireless speakers’ range.
Each will work with a standard Bluetooth connection, but the company says they can deliver higher audio quality using Creative’s own transmitters. These come with either iPod or USB connections and allow devices to stream audio via Bluetooth using Creative’s own X-audio codec.
The ZiiSound D5 flagship (pictured) will include a BT-D5 iPod transmitter as standard and, initially at least, a BT-D1 USB transmitter for £280. It includes the Works with iPhone badge, so it can also charge any iPod or iPhone via its docking station, and each of the transmitters is also available separately for £40.
Other speakers in the range include the 2.1 system Inspire S2 (£100), the D200 (£90) and the diminutive D100 (£60), which also comes in a range of colours. Unlike the mains-powered models, the D100 model can also be powered by AA batteries.
