Sagemcom's first Freeview + HD PVRs

26 mars 2010

Sagemcom has announced its first Freeview+ HD TV recorders for the UK, the catchily-named RTI90-320 T2 HD and RTI90-500 T2 HD.

Both models from the new-ish company which used to be the communications branch of French technology giant Sagem have the same spec, only differing in the amount of hard disk space they have – 320GB and 500GB.

The compact recorders both support the new HD DVB-T2 standard and are capable of receiving and recording all Freeview+ channels and services, including HD programmes. Each has twin tuners too, so you can record one channel while watching another.

Both come with a new eight-day EPG, which can be browsed while still watching TV. They also have one-touch recording, Series Link and one-touch access to saved programmes. There’s also an Ethernet port for future interactive services.

Powered by the 55 nanometre STM7105 chipset from STMicroelectronics, the 320GB version can record up to 160 hours of programmes while the 500GB HDD will allow 250 hours.

The RTI90-320 T2 HD will be available at the end of April while the RTI90-500 T2 HD will follow at the end of May. No word yet on prices.
