AMX has announced RGB Communications will no longer act as distributor for its range of Control Systems and AV switching technologies in the UK and Ireland. All AMX customers previously supported by RGB Communications will now been supported directly by AMX UK from January 2010. AMX says it has made several key acquisitions in the last four years and now has a range of products that include control systems, digital content management and distribution, IPTV and video and audio switching technologies.

Commenting on the changes to the UK distribution, Kevin Morrison, AMX Europe’s managing director, said: “AMX has a great relationship with RGB Communications and they have been a great partner. However, AMX has grown dramatically in the last five years and our product portfolio, increased service and support offering are a challenge for traditional distribution partners.
“AMX has simply elected to address this by expanding its own sales team in the UK and Ireland from 2010 and I am confident our customers will be delighted with the result. This is an issue of timing and market maturity and we wish the team at RGB Communications every success going forward.”
