Mitsubishi has announced two new models for its 1080p Diamond Series of home cinema projectors, the HC6800 and HC3800.
The HC6800 is a premium 3-LCD full HD design with a high contrast ratio of 30,000:1, brightness of 1500 ANSI lumens and what Mitsubishi claims to be an ‘exceptionally sharp’ full HD optic. Advanced video processing is also claimed with Reon-VXIC from Silicon Optix, which converts quality high-definition and DVD into 1920×1080 pixel images.
A ten-bit calculation at the core of the high-precision I-P conversion function promises signals from all types of sources, including terrestrial TV, digital satellite broadcasts and recorded DVDs. There’s also a Blu-ray 24-P direct output promising smooth movement up to twice the speed of traditional cinema films.
The HC3800 model meanwhile is the entry-level model in the range, but still manages to include the latest 0.65 DLP chip, a DDP3021 full ten-bit panel driver and BrilliantColour technology. It produces 1300 lumens of brightness and a 3300:1 contrast ratio and includes a colour adjustment function for tweaking to your personal preferences, a projection ratio of 1.4:1 to 2.1:1, stray-light eliminating DMD-technology and promises up to 5,000 hours lamp life.
Both models are on sale now for £2,140 (HC6800) and £1,200 (HC3800).
