Cabasse Limited Edition Piano Black Speakers

18 novembre 2009

Classy French speaker manufacturer Cabasse has revealed a new limited edition range of its MT30 and MC40 speakers in piano black finish. The new models will command a premium price of between £100-£240 more than the standard wood veneer finishes due to their exclusivity.

The MC40 range is the introduction to Cabasse’s point source co-axial technology, using the BC10 co-axial unit with its 27mm tweeter and 10cm ring midrange driver. All MC40 models use the same SCS (spatially coherent system) technology found in the flagship La Sphere speaker.

Cabasse Minorca MC40 LE

Top of the list is the 110cm tall, three-way Java MC40 LE floorstander (£1,598 and the smaller of two floorstanders in the MC40 range) which includes the BC10 co-axial unit with two Duocell 17cm low frequency drivers. From the same range is the 40cm tall, three-way Minorca MC40 LE standmount (£899), which features BC10 co-axial unit plus a single 17cm Duocell woofer.

Further down the scale are the two-way, 41cm tall Antigua MT30 LE standmount (£549) and Jersey MT30 LE floorstander (£998) from the company’s new entry-level ranges. Each features the DOM36 tweeter, which also conforms to the principles of the company’s SCS technology. The Antigua includes a single 17cm low frequency driver while the Jersey adds an additional 17cm LF unit to further increase the bass output, with a response down to 59Hz.
