Klipsch has updated its iGroove iPod dock music system to accommodate all the latest innovations from Apple, including the iPhone.
Like the original, the refreshed iGroove SXT employs dual long-throw 2.5in woofers in a ported enclosure and dual 19mm horn-loaded tweeters. However, the SXT is now bi-amplified, so each driver is individually amplified in an attempt to reduce distortion. Klipsch has also re-tuned the bass ports on the sides of the system to reduce “port noise.”
The new iGroove SXT will play and charge any iPod with a 30-pin connector and has passed Apple’s “Works with iPhone” certification. It’s also been certified ‘WWi’, which means it has gone through mobile phone radiation testing, certifying that a minimal amount of phone-related noise is audible.
The shuffle and other digital devices connect via a rear auxiliary input, while an S-video output allows you to view videos on your TV. Klipsch also claims that the iGroove SXT is the first iPod speaker dock to include a 1000mA rapid charge circuit, which allows you to quickly recharge your iPod, iPod touch or iPhone.
Available in a black finish with a silver trim and black cloth grille, the new-version iGroove is on sale now at the same price as the original, £130.
