Speaker specialist Harmon Kardon has announced a £500 mini system, the MS 100.
Bearing some resemblance to the oval stylings of B&W’s recently announced Zeppelin Mini, the system includes a slot-loading CD player and FM tuner with RDS and six presets, but no DAB option. A dedicated iPod dock is mounted at the side and can be pushed into the unit when it’s not in use. It can accommodate most iPods from the G4 onwards, including the iPhone, but not the shuffle. While it’s in the dock, your iPod will charge and can be operated by the MS 100’s remote.
The onboard amp pumps out the sound through a 5in woofer and dome tweeter at either end. The CD player can handle CD, CD-R and CD-RW discs playing MP3 and WMA files. There are also S-Video and composite video outputs for viewing your photos and videos on a TV, plus an alarm clock, three auxiliary audio inputs (one of which is digital), a headphone jack and subwoofer output.
The Harman Kardon MS 100 is on sale now for £500.
