Pioneer has announced a range of stylish new iPod docks due to hit the shelves in November.
Keen to get a slice of the quality dock pie which has been largely eaten by B&W’s Zeppelin, the much less catchily titled XW-NAS5 will feature a 2.1 speaker system in a single unit, with digital amplification which the company claimes will offer “precise sound reproduction and warm acoustics” with the help of a pair of front-facing stereo speakers and a downward-firing subwoofer.
The dock will accept both iPod (including the Touch) and iPhone and includes a Bluetooth adapter for wireless control.
The standard model, available in white, will cost £399 but there will also be a premium system available in four colours (red, white, black or silver) which incorporates an FM radio plus ‘soundscaping’ ambient sounds for £499.
