Joel Silver explains the need for calibration of AV receivers (CEDIA Expo Denver 2008)

Joel Silver, Founder of Imaging Science Foundation (ISF), explains that after achieving excellent levels of Video Calibration for TVs and monitors, the Digital Revolution and 1080p arrived with its new requirements. Joel then talks about the problems of using an AV Receiver to connect sources which means the “intelligence” that has been built into the TV set is “ignored”. He talks about his collaboration with HDMI and the current solutions.
