Acknowledging Meridian Premier Partner TechniQuest’s Prestigious Sponsorship of the 2013 International Wimbledon Music Festival
TechniQuest UK Ltd and their event partners Meridian Audio have recently staged two excellent occasions to celebrate their sponsorship of the International Wimbledon Music Festival 2013.
In the luxurious surroundings of TechniQuest’s Wimbledon Village showroom, a gathering of clients, friends and IWMF Benefactors enjoyed an inspiring speech by Allen Boothroyd, co-founder of Meridian Audio with Bob Stuart, followed by the playback of master recordings of the world’s premier period-instrument quartet Quatuor Mosaïques, in a programme including pieces performed live at the Festival on world-leading reference audio systems by Meridian Audio. Altogether it was a fitting celebration of a Wimbledon festival that is already a highlight on London’s annual cultural calendar.
As well as the display and demonstration of their permanent reference Meridian Digital Theatre and secondary Meridian digital streaming listening suite, TechniQuest coincided Allen Bothroyd’s visit with a display of legacy Lecson and Meridian Audio products, including the multiple design award winning Lecson hi-fi system first engineered and released to market in the UK in 1972. Allen Boothroyd trained as a mechanical engineer, going on to study industrial design at the Royal College of Art.
In a second event TechniQuest and Meridian Audio were delighted to sponsor the performance of Austria’s celebrated period-instrument quartet Quatuor Mosaïques with a prestigious event, again within the 2013 International Wimbledon Music Festival.
In the beautiful and historic interior of St. John’s Church, Wimbledon Village, the quartet played late Georgian string quartet pieces by Haydn, Mozart and Beethoven to an appreciative full-house privileged to witness a world-leading quartet in such an intimate setting.
The Festival Director Anthony Wilkinson gave generous thanks to the event sponsor TechniQuest before the performance – ‘We, the organisers of The IWMF, strive for the benchmark of world-leading classical music performance, and the event sponsors this evening, TechniQuest, and their event partner Meridian Audio fully reflect that pinnacle of best in class performance and technical achievement.’
The chamber ensemble Quatuor Mosaïques consists of musicians from Austria and France and is acknowledged worldwide as most prominent period-instrument quartet performing today. They are multiple winners of the prestigious Gramophone Awards, the Diapason d’Or and the Choc du Monde de la Musique.
