Denon AVR-1907 : 2007 range 7.1 / 5.1+2 Bi-Amping Home Cinema Receiver

2 octobre 2006

Communiqué de presse

Improved audio and video and a staggering range of features, incl. auto-setup, on-screen displays, iPod integration, a new front panel two-line display and Denon’s new Ergo Remote handset.

The AVR-1907 is excellent value and a solid upgrade on the 1906, with higher build quality, an aluminium front panel, a new 32 bit Floating Point DSP, Seven x 120 watt amplifiers, Digital Video Conversion and a lot more. Multiple inputs give huge flexibility, upgraded chassis layout, digital circuits and power supply deliver improved sound quality.

Denon’s 2007 AV Receiver design goals were to improve a. audio / video quality and b. usability. A new chassis layout and upgraded components take care of the sound. The new Ergo Remote takes care of the user, with key controls on the front face and rarely used ones under a flap. Clear ergonomic design gives all important functions their own size and shape of button for intuitive control.
The 1907 allows for HD-DVD & BluRay HD Audio via a wideband 8-channel input and for full iPod integration, display & control via Denon’s ASD-1R dock. A new 32bit Floating Point DSP handles surround processing at 96kHz (many competitors process Dolby PLIIx and DTS Neo:6 at 48kHz) The result? more information and better surround fields. All audio DACs are 24bit/192 kHz devices which deliver cleaner audio.

For owners of HD-ready displays with no HDMI, the 1907 switches 100MHz component video and the new Digital Component Video Conversion feature allows all sources to feed the display with high-quality pictures via one cable.
As many users only run 5.1, Denon have made the extra two channels available to bi-amp the front L/R speakers.

Total iPod Control via the iPod data bus for Denon’s ASD-1R dock. Line-out audio for best sound. Photo and Video playback. Track info is displayed on the front panel and on the OSD. The iPod is controlled using the 1907’s remote.

Twin Drive Rectifier Power Supply and Hefty Power Transformer
The chassis that supports the large mains transformer absorbs vibration and the transformer is housed inside a rigid frame to secure it solidly to the chassis. Cushioning around the core of the transformer minimizes interference with the signal. This low-noise design comes from Denon’s high-end models.
DENON’s Twin Drive Rectifier design uses two rectifying diodes in parallel to bring out the maximum potential of the large transformer. The rectifiers power the large block capacitors at low impedance, and are able to supply ample current to reproduce deep bass as well as sudden bursts of sound from percussion or effects.
Large Aluminium Extruded Heatsink. The 1907 uses large heat sinks made of extruded aluminium, placed in a design that ensures uniform temperatures throughout the heatsink so that the output transistors are be driven under uniform conditions. This in turn ensures that all channels respond with equal performance.
