Interchangeable front screens blend in with any type of decor

Danish speaker company Artcoustic has introduced its latest range of speakers, which continue the company’s tradition of combining powerful performance with stunning design.
There are 10 models in the new line-up, ranging from the compact but powerful Diablo Mini X2, to the flagship DFF180-43 X2. There are also new subwoofers which, like the company’s regular speakers, can hang on the wall like a painting. Better still, Artcoustic customers can customise the design of their speakers to blend in with their décor.

The company has devised a system of interchangeable screens for its speakers. Customers can choose from exquisite fabrics, images from the Getty Image Library, or even one of their own photographs, which is then printed on to the front of the speaker. The effect is stunning. So much so that guests will wonder where the music is coming from.

“Usually in this world, you have to choose between great design and great performance” says Artcoustic CEO Kim Donvig. “When it comes to loudspeaker design, if it looks good, it’s unlikely to sound good, and for some reason, if it sounds good, it very rarely looks good. We never understood why you couldn’t have both, so when you buy an Artcoustic speaker, you get the best of both worlds.”

All the new speakers feature two X2 tweeters, which produce the high frequency sounds. The X2 tweeters improve the performance of the speakers, compared to their predecessors. The larger models in the new range also have new bass drive units, which produce the low frequency sounds. Once again, the new bass units improve the performance over their predecessors.

About Artcoustic
Artcoustic was founded in Denmark in 1998 by Kim Donvig and Patricia Ljungberg. Their goal was to combine aesthetics and sound quality, without compromising either. Going back to the roots of traditional Danish loudspeaker design, Artcoustic has transformed the conventional loudspeaker with a modern look. The company’s wall-hanging speakers – including wall-hanging subwoofers – boast a slimline profile, together with interchangeable screens to enable customers to integrate the speakers with their décor. Screen options include the Match System, including eight different screen colours; the Designer Textile range of exquisite fabrics crated by leading textile houses; and photographs from the Getty Image Library. Customers can also supply their own photographs or artwork for Artcoustic to incorporate into a screen.
At the same time, sound quality has not been compromised. The remarkable dynamic range and efficiency of Artcoustic speakers, both far higher than conventional hi-fi designs, make them an ideal solution for high-end domestic and commercial installations.
