Hi-fi specialist Boston Acoustics has announced its Horizon Trio XT, describing it as a ‘premium tabletop music system’. The Horizon Trio XT features a CD player, DAB/FM stereo tuner and an iPod dock in a snazzily designed unit that includes a surrounding aluminium trim that doubles as a snooze bar.
The slot-loading CD player supports CD, mini CD and MP3 audio formats, while the DAB/FM stereo tuner offers five DAB and five FM presets, RDS text support with information displayed on the high contrast display that adjusts automatically according to light conditions in the room. The system also boasts a pair of 3.5in full range speakers mounted in acoustically-tuned chambers with BassTrac audio processing to keep control of the bass levels to avoid any low-end distortion.
The optional HRD-i iPod dock charges your iPod and iPhone as it plays and can be controlled by the mini remote control. Non-Apple fans are also catered for with two aux inputs for connecting other media players alongside line and stereo headphone outputs. Standard features like alarm clock with sleep timer and Boston Acoustics’ now familiar interchangeable coloured front grilles complete the package.
The Horizon Trio XT goes on sale next month for £449.
