Sharp have launched two new ranges of LED screens LE600 and LE700. The new screens use Sharp’s AQUOS technology with a full screen LED back lighting system.
The LE600 is available in 32”, 40” and 46” models with the LE700 spanning the same range with the addition of a 52” model. The difference between the two ranges is aesthetic and internal, with the LE700 range having a glass stand as well as boasting 100Hz panels and an extra HDMI input.

Sharp’s LE600
Both of the new AQUOS LED models incorporate Sharp’s Full Screen LED backlight technology that illuminates the TV to extremely high brightness through hundreds of LEDs positioned directly behind the entire screen.
Due for release at the end of August the screens have an array of inputs including HDMI (v1.3 with Deep Colour) and a component video input, all of which are 1080p compatible. The screen has 100Hz technology and a rapid pixel response time of 4ms with a an impressive 176-degree viewing angle. This of course can be used with Sharps new HP22h Blu-Ray player.
The TV is also equipped with a system designed to lower power consumption during use by adjusting the screen brightness based on the level of brightness in the room. In fact, this series offers 40% less power consumption than traditional LCD backlight technology. These TV series also use eco-friendly components and are mercury free with both the LE600 and LE700 being awarded the EU eco-label commendation.
The LE600 and LE700 will be available from all major UK outlets in July 2009 with prices starting at £750.
