Absolute Sounds
Rooms: 309 and 310
Back at the Bristol Sound & Vision Show ‘due to popular demand’, the UK’s leading importer and distributor of high-performance hi-fi and home cinema equipment is showing a variety of new and recently launched products from some of the world’s most prestigious brands, including Audio Research, Copland, DreamVision, Jadis, Krell, MartinLogan, Sonus Faber, Theta Digital and Wilson Audio. New launches include Sonus Faber’s extended Toy family of loudspeakers, Krell’s ‘entry-level’ S-300i integrated amplifier and MartinLogan’s Spire hybrid electrostatic speaker. Visitors can also get ‘hands on’ with an amazing new music server from Qsonix, sporting a brilliantly simple and elegant user interface.
Blue Horizon
Room: 209 (Sound Fowndations)
A new company on the audio block, Blue Horizon is dedicated to delivering exceptional audio accessories for those who demand the best from their hi-fi systems. Blue Horizon’s range of professional-grade, sound-enhancing products kicks off with Proburn – a cable burn-in device that speeds up the burn-in time required for cables to reach optimum performance, and ensures that existing cables are always performing at their best. Proburn is putting in its first public appearance at the show, alongside a new contact cleaner called Clean-IT.

Denon
Room: Berlin
Denon, one of the world’s leading home cinema manufacturers, is holding the European launch of the DVD-A1UD Universal Blu-ray player at the show. With its ability to play DVD-Audio and SACD, this is the only Blu-ray player of its type. Denon’s full range of Blu-ray players will also be on display, along with the award-winning D-M37DAB micro system.
Fatman
Room: Bristol Suite
Fatman will showcase the iTube 202. This beautiful valve amp replaces the outgoing and much-loved iTube 182. Expect the 202 to retail around the £799 mark. The Fatman team is also especially excited at the world exclusive launch of the Fat One phono stage – Fatman, the pioneer of valve-based audiophile quality iPod docks, has gone full circle and built a vinyl-friendly unit to excel with the ‘elder statesman’ of music formats. Also taking to the stage for the first time are the Fatboy II speakers; replacing the curvaceous original Fatboy, this model builds on its forebear’s stunning looks and sound, and sports a highly agreeable £349 price tag.
Furutech
Room: 209 (Sound Fowndations)
In the world of audio and video connectors and accessories, no company has a finer reputation than Furutech. The Japanese specialist will be showing its unique flagship range in the UK for the first time, courtesy of UK distributor, Sound Fowndations. Fresh from scooping a ‘Best of Innovations Award’ at CES 2009 in Las Vegas, these connectors are a ‘must-see’ for all serious audio lovers.
Imerge
Room: Hotel Reception (with JVC)
Although not officially exhibiting at the show, the Cambridge-based pioneer of hard disk home media servers will be present thanks to JVC. Imerge’s ground-breaking MediaServer MS1 and XiVASafe high-definition media system is being used by JVC to demonstrate its new projectors in the hotel’s reception area. IsoTek

IsoTek has been ever-present at the Bristol Sound & Vision Show since 2002, and the power management specialist’s engaging demonstrations are now legendary. This year, IsoTek’s live dems encompass the entry-level Sirius power strip and the high-end Titan mains conditioner, with several steps in between. If you want to discover what power conditioning can do for your system, make a beeline for the IsoTek room and prepare to be amazed… It’s the mains event at Bristol Sound & Vision!
KEF
Rooms: Oslo and 312
With over 45 years of expertise and strong core values of innovation, quality and performance, KEF has retained a flair for the unusual in terms of loudspeaker engineering, design and materials. Located in two rooms, KEF is showcasing a number of outstanding systems; Oslo Suites 1 & 2 play host to an extraordinary 7.2 KEF Reference system, whilst KEF’s award-winning KHT3005SE system is shown in Room 312.
Marantz
Room: 410
For over half a century, Marantz has been developing exceptional technologies and bringing landmark hi-fi and home entertainment products to market through its tireless and extensive R&D programmes. On demonstration at the Show will be the flagship CD/SACD player and integrated amp from the current ‘Range’ series – the PM8003 and SA8003 – paired with Mordaunt-Short’s Mezzo 6 loudspeakers.
Meridian Audio
Rooms: Bristol Suite and Madrid 1 & 2
Meridian will be demonstrating the awesome Sooloos audio system in the Lower Ground Floor Madrid Suite. This reference-quality system sports one of the most functionally elegant, user-friendly hard disk server access solutions for music yet created. Also at the show, there will be an exclusive first showing of Meridian’s new, flagship DSP8000 Digital Active Loudspeaker, which sets new standards for clarity, dynamics, imaging and realism. NAD is showcasing no fewer than 12 new products in the Rome Suite. The company’s experts will be on hand to answer questions and offer advice about the new, state-of-the-art Blu-ray player, DVD player, home cinema receivers, CD player, stereo amplifiers, compact DVD hi-fi system and much more. Experience the new T587 Blu-ray player and T747 receiver for yourself, on demonstration with Q Acoustics ‘Q-AV’ home cinema loudspeaker system.
Quad

The history of Quad is one of audio excellence. Since 1936, Quad has been at the cutting edge of high-end audio, winning acclaim and respect for its products around the world. When developing new components, Quad is particular in ensuring the philosophy of its founder, Peter Walker, remains consistent – to produce “the closest approach to the original sound.” Show demonstrations include the multi-award-winning Quad ESL 2905 electrostatic speakers and II-Eighty valve amplifiers. A selection of components from other brands in the IAG stable will also be shown, including Audiolab and Mission.
Roth Audio

Visitors to Roth Audio’s stand can lay eyes on the revolutionary RothDock; the dock that wirelessly frees your iPod and iPhone, plus your tunes – and, if your iPhone rings, the RothDock’s fades your music and you hear the ring through your hi-fi system. Roth Audio’s debut entry-level all-in-one iPod/iPhone speaker system – retailing at £149 – will also take a bow. Add the new KH2 subwoofer and new C2 centre channel to the existing Roth Audio OLi speaker range, and you have the makings of some fine looking, great sounding, yet wallet-friendly 5.1 speaker packages.

SIM2 will be demonstrating its new flagship 3-chip DLP video projector, the C3X LUMIS HOST, together with the beautifully styled, infinite contrast ratio Solar Series LCD screen. Delivering a demonstrable step up from the already awe-inspiring standards of the C3X 1080, the C3X LUMIS HOST offers a superb native contrast ratio (>35,000:1), which is matched by its impressive colour depth and remarkable light output (3000 ANSI lumens), resulting in images that have an incredibly realistic, almost three-dimensional quality to them. Also demonstrated will be the breathtaking Solar Series LCD screen. The technologies implemented in this £20,000 display deliver an astounding 65,536 shades per colour, smashing the 1,024 shades typical of current LCD displays. The Solar Series offers a theoretically infinite contrast ratio, with measurements of well over 1,000,000:1. This is the world’s first production High-Dynamic-Range (HDR)–enabled LCD display using Dolby Vision technology.
Vita Audio

Vita Audio will be giving a world-exclusive preview of its new R2i DAB/FM table-top radio, which takes the multi-award-winning R2 as its basis and massively improves performance, connectivity and ergonomics, while maintaining Vita Audio’s hallmarks of serious style and sound, combined in the perfect compact package. Also on display will be the company’s iconic R4 all-in-one music system.
