CES 2009 News: Sharp world’s first LCD TV with a built-in Blu-ray player!

At a press conference Sharp today announced a host of new products for 2009. Starting of with news of the world’s first LCD TV with a built-in Blu-ray player.

Sharp is also expanding it’s screen size class with an 82-inch class LCD display. Also announced for 2009 full-HD 1080p models in seven screen size classes as well as the availability of 120Hz in seven new AQUOS TVs. The newest lines of large-screen AQUOS HDTVs feature enhanced contrast ratios, response times that are among the fastest in the industry, and more inputs.

Two new Blu-ray players were also announced featuring BD-ROM Profile 2.0 for a multitude of interactive features through an Internet connection. The BD-HP22U, and the BD-HP16U will be priced in the U.S at $299 and $279 respectively.

Sharp also introduced several audio products that incorporate superior sound technology including the BD-MPC40 and the BD-MPC30A two new audio home theater system with built-in Blu-ray. To finish the line are Sharp will introduce the company’s first Sound Bar products named the HT-SB300 and the HT-SB200
