PURE launches EVOKE-2S and adds to their World-leading DAB/FM radio range and gets a comprehensive overhaul adding PURE Clearsound™ Technology. The Evoke-2S is an evolution of the 2005 Award-winning Evoke-2XT and becomes Pure’s flagship stereo DAB/FM radio.
Pure’s dedicated audio engineering team have worked to make EVOKE-2S its best sounding portable radio yet, adding improved mid-range speakers and separate tweeters and driving them with PURE Clearsound technology. Clearsound is a completely new digital end-to-end audio subsystem which uses an integrated high-performance switch-mode power supply, high quality Class D amplifiers, digital audio shaping technology and custom-tuned speakers to provide clear dynamic audio with immense 30W RMS power, while maintaining low power consumption.
Pure’s ReVu technology is also used to pause and rewind live DAB radio, Intellitext and textScan, improved alarms and sleep timer functions. It also has an OLED (organic LED display) with manual and automatic brightness controls, an input for an iPod/MP3 player, USB upgradability.
EVOKE-2S can be run off the mains or taken out and about thanks to the optional ‘fit and forget’ ChargePAK rechargeable battery, which provides a week’s worth of portable listening per charge. There is also a mains power switch on the back panel for those who don’t wish to leave their radio on standby.
The Evoke-2S is available in real maple veneer from November and retails at £169.99.
