Sharp have just announced as part of Sharp’s AQUOS DX family, the world’s first range of LCD HDTVs to have internal Blu-ray players.
The New AQUOS DX range start from 26 inch with the LC-26DX1, moving up to the 32 inch the LC-32DX1 and 37 inch LC-37DX1. Bigger screen are also available from 42 inch LC-42DX1, a 46 inch LC-46DX1 and 52inch LC-52DX1. Only the 37 inch through to 52 inch screens offer Full HD 1080p resolutions.
Depending on over heating issues like all built in DVD players and quality of the actual Blu-ray player, this come as a welcome surprise and with less clutter can only be a good thing.
Released in Japan in November with a retail price of ¥200,000 (£1,156) to ¥500,000 (£2,890) depending on size.
