Panasonic Chose CEATEC Show To Showcase WirelessHD

Panasonic have chosen this years CEATEC show oven in Japan to showcase their built in wireless HD technology. First showcased at IFA 2008, which took place in Germany in August, this is the first time that the company has showcased it in Japan. Wireless HD can pass along 1080p content using the 60GHz band milliwave, and data transmissions speeds can reach up to 4Gbps.

With a wireless adaptor attached to the PDP screen and sourced via a Blu-ray player The company transmitted content to the tuner via HDMI and wirelessly transmitted it from the tuner. Panasonic even had a Nintendo Wii to show how this would work wireless.

Panasonic hope to release this prototype some time in 2009.
