*NAD*’s new VISO FIVE is an all-in-one DVD/CD Player and Digital Surround Sound Receiver. The unit is a single sophisticated package requiring only the addition of a Plasma or LCD screen and surround sound speakers to bring cinema quality to a dedicated Home Cinema or additional rooms in the home. VISO is the Italian word for face and the NAD design has made this model live up to its name.
Due to reach the stores imminently, the VISO FIVE should retail for close to £1000. It can deliver video images upscaled to 720p or 1080i via HDMI, and accepts optional modules for DAB digital radio. At the rear of the panel a Data Port accepts NAD’s optional new IPD-1 Dock. There’s 5×60W output plus a subwoofer out, and the VISO FIVE has component and Scart outputs as well as that HDMI, component video input. A 5.1-channel analogue input is also provided.
The VISO TWO is the two channel receiver model which should be available in late March and retail at about £850 in the UK.
