Boston Acoustics has released new style Horizon floor standing speakers. Built on Boston’s enduring values of high-performance, quality and innovation, Horizon is intended to attract a broad audience who are looking for style and modern design as well as sound.
Boston HS 450, without grill
These speakers are built to sound great and every element is visible or audible in the finished product. Attention to detail in fit and finish, materials selection and build quality are key Boston hallmarks.
Features includes Boston Acoustics own design and build drive units, soft-dome tweeters for high-frequency clarity, dual woofers and dual passive radiators for serious bass, and 21st century computer designed moulded cabinets.
Boston HS 460 Chilli grill
In order to create the elegant and complex shapes that Boston wanted for Horizon, they could not use traditional, folded box, MDF construction.
Heavy ABS plastic was chosen instead, giving the ability to shape and mould the cabinets exactly as desired, achieving rigidity equivalent to 3⁄4-inch MDF. Extensive ribbing and bracing was added to the inside of the moulding, which further strengthens the structure. Computer Modelling with Advanced Finite Element Analysis determines the exact construction and the HS 450 and HS 460 have been fitted with extra MDF bracing between rear cabinet wall & woofer motor. The result is a great looking cabinet that is light but exceptionally rigid.

In addition, there is also a Personal Options Plan, which allows buyers to match speakers to their taste, using replaceable cloth speaker grilles. The grilles complement the soft-touch painted finish and integrated colour-coordinated rubber trim on Boston Horizon speakers and can be bought from dealers or on the web.
