Denon DHT-FS3 X-Space Surround 'Bar' : trim design, wide sound experience!

23 juillet 2007

After Yamaha and Philips, it’s now time for Denon to launch its new ‘sound bar system’ : the DHT-FS3.

Just like other ‘bars’, the DHT-FS3 relies on wall reflections to generate sound, but what’s new here are the broader beams for wider listening area. This helps prevent the ‘hot-seat’ issue as the new X-Space Surround provides everyone in the room with the same quality sound experience. Another neat thing here is the dapper design (piano black finosh) combined with the quick setup.

The FS3 delivers 150 watts of cinematic experience from the slim ‘bar’ and also includes a slim subwoofer that caters for the indispensable bass. The cabinet contains six precision speaker drivers, seven powerful digital amplifiers and advanced DSP chips running Denon’s new X-SPACE Surround program, which control each individual speaker. Sophisticated superimposition of sound waves creates a realistic impression of surround sound which comes amazingly close to the traditional A/V setup with five speakers. Two speakers are used to deliver extra power and clarity for the all-important centre channel.

Available this August at around 1,000€.
