ARCAM AV9 preamp processor goes HDMI

6 décembre 2005

British born ARCAM had already set the pace in 2002, with key changes, new defs and formats pointing their noses, the necessity for an upgrade has become urgent.

The result is a combination of the award-winning quality of the AV8, to which ARCAM has added key specifications and elements.

First, the new AV9 is compatible with the latest Lucas THX Ultra 2 specifications.
Then, since HDMI is earning the enviable position of being THE high-def TV connection standard, ARCAM people - who, by the way, were the first to introduce HDMI on their DVD players - couldn’t wait to install this switching on their machines…

Nice beast, as usual with ARCAM

The result is a 5-way, 1080, HDMI switching that guarantees compatibility with Blu-ray, HD-DVD, Sky and other boxes…As for its predecessor, the AV9 is built using the Acousteel acoustic damping with “constrained layer case”. It also uses multiple separated power supplies feeding the critical audio and video circuits.

The AV9 is available now at the price of £3600.

Last, happy AV8 owners will be able to upgrade early next year.
