Acoustic Research's Digital MediaBridge

23 mai 2005

Acoustic Research's new DMP3000 "Digital MediaBridge" has been introduced at the New York City based 2005 HES (Home Entertainment Show). The DMP3000 Digital MediaBridge is an Audio Video link between a Home Entertainment System and a PC: One can transfer files (video, sound, photos) from the PC to the Home Video and play them there. Acoustic Research is part of a larger family of Audiovox brands (Nasdaq: VOXX), which also include Phase Linear, Jensen and Jensen Marine, Advent, and Terk.

DVI and component video outputs allow for 780p or 1080p HD images. MP3, AAC, WAV, and WMA formats are available for sound reproduction, while -still or movie- JPEG, MPEG2, MPEG4, and WM9 image formats are aboard for playbacks.

The PC and the home video system don't have to be in the same room, since Digital Mediabridge comes with an 802.11g Wi-Fi capability, and the device offers wired/wireless home network through Ethernet.

Last, a 6-device remote can operate both the PC and the Home Video system. It can be upgraded since the DMP3000 is connected to the Internet.

Its availability on the US market is planned for June, and it will be priced there at $349 (approximately GBP 189).
