HD Ready DLP rear Projection TVs from Toshiba

Japanese manfacturer Toshiba will come with no less than three DLP rear projection TVs during Q3/2005 in the UK market. 46in, 56in and 62in devices, respectively dubbed 46WMT58, 56WMT58, and 62WMT58 will all be HD REady, in the meaning of the EICTA certification (see our news on the UK market "readinesss" so far)... This means that all devices come equipped with native 1280x720p resolution and TWO HDMI inputs. In addition, every model will be equipped with digital tuning capacity. Texas Instruments’ HD4 model will provide the DLP engine in each projector allowing for contrast ratios of 2000:1, 600cd/m2 brightness, and 40W RMS stereo sound. The two bigger devices will look more slim.

Toshiba seems confident that the list price can be around GBP 2k for the 46in, GBP 2.5k-GBP 3k for the 56in, and even around GBP 3k for the massive 62in.
