Pioneer's PRV-LX1 comes equipped with a The PRV-LX1 is designed to quickly and easily record video from all professional video sources onto DVD-R or DVD-RW media without the need for a PC or authoring system. This industrial recorder is designed to meet the needs of a wide variety of video and post-production environments and easily tackles one-step conversion of video assets to DVD, easy authoring of video projects and archiving video to the highly compatible DVD-Video format.

The bit rate of the MPEG-2 video can be precisely set, all the way up from 1.441 Mbps to 9.644 Mbps in 32 levels, meaning the quality of the image is finally up to the user. It offers Dolby Digital and the uncompressed Linear PCM audio encoding formats. It also comes with user friendly functions such as recording, editing and A/V authoring. There is a library of background, templates and interactive buttons that are user friendly and intuitive. At 7300 EUROS or about 5000 £ it is targeting production and post-production professionals as well as (wealthy) passionates.
