“The AQUOS is meant to provide the total entertainment package of a world-class picture combined with an effortless viewing experience. That's why we're proud to be one of the first companies to offer TV Guide On Screen built into our LC-TVs,” said Bob Scaglione, senior vice president, Consumer Electronics Marketing Group, Sharp Electronics Corporation. “The new electronic program guide gives consumers a full eight days of show listings, has one-touch record and playback, doesn't require a phone line, and there's no subscription fee. It's a total win-win for our customers.”
The new AQUOS HDTVs are available with either silver finish and fixed side speakers (LC-37D5U, LC-32D5U, LC-26D5U), or black side panels with titanium finish and detachable bottom speakers (LC-37D7U, LC-32D7U, LC-26D7U), in order to easily mold with a buyer's personal taste and decor when incorporating AQUOS into a room. The new televisions are Digital Cable Ready with built-in CableCARD™ slots so consumers can easily connect to compatible cable systems for high-definition programming without the need for a separate set- top box.*
Sharp is renowned for its Emmy ® Award-winning LCD technology** and the new 2005 AQUOS models advance that tradition even further. All D5U and D7U AQUOS sets have 1366 x 768 resolution (for 720p HDTV picture compatibility and a “true” 16:9 aspect ratio), 800:1 contrast ratios, and unsurpassed viewing angles (170 degrees). Pixel response time has been enhanced with Sharp's exclusive Quick Shoot video circuitry for a dramatic, flowing motion that separates Sharp LC HDTVs from the competition.
“HDTV buyers are becoming increasingly savvy as the digital television revolution sweeps through America's living rooms. These consumers are not only looking for great picture quality and value, but for advanced creature comforts as well. Our new D5U and D7U series of flat-panel AQUOS with TV Guide On Screen provide exactly what they're looking for,” continued Scaglione.
