"Samsung's AV-R3000 takes its rightful place among the world's elite home theater components," said Bill Hadam, Senior Manager for Digital Audio at Samsung Electronics America . "We continue to build on our longstanding tradition of innovation, and it's the customers who benefit from our quest for home theater audio and video perfection."

The AV-R3000 makes history as the world's most powerful 7-channel all digital receiver to have DVI and HDMI switching. Digital is truly the name of the game, with four HDMI inputs, two DVI inputs, one HDMI output and one DVI output maximizing the number of pure digital connections to accommodate all of today's digital components. This allows the device to rise to the highest standard of home theater performance, delivering accurate, pristine sound and vivid, lifelike video from any source.

With the AV-R3000, music aficionados can immerse themselves in a flawless auditory experience. A best-in-class 250 watts/channel of output power over a 7-channel high power digital amplifier ensure that the receiver delivers dynamic, detailed audio at low to medium volumes, and truly mind-blowing sound at high volumes. The device is rated to 8ohms, with just 0.005% THD over the entire range of audible sound (20 Hz~20kHz).

In addition to sheer power, the top-of-the-line receiver also features comprehensive audio enhancements so movies and music fill the room with brilliant sound. Audiophiles will rave over the built-in room equalizer that measures the acoustic responses at the user's listening position and compensates the Frequency Response, Delay Time and Gain for all channels for the ultimate performance. A high quality Sound Field Effect Processor gives listeners a sense of "being there," and PURE DIRECT Mode delivers crystal clear audio quality on every channel. The Multi-Zone Function lets users select different audio/video sources for multimedia entertainment in up to three different rooms (ZONE2 and ZONE3) simultaneously. And 192kHz/24bit Analog-to-Digital and 192kHz/24bit Digital-to-Analog converters ensure optimal sound from any source.

Videophiles will rejoice over the AV-R3000's smooth picture delivery, luxuriating in crisp lines and lush colors from every input source. The receiver is fully HDTV compatible, providing superior image precision at all hi-definition resolutions (480p, 720p, 1080i). The A/V Receiver upgrades any video signal to the highest possible video output, with video signal UP-scaling and Faroudja DCDi for progressive video.

The device offers a superb array of expandable features to ensure compatibility with future generations of home theater components, such as an 8-channel external input & output, RS-232C, and a DC trigger out equipped with 2 systems of 12V trigger out connections. Convenient operation is assured with Samsung's AnyNetä system, which provides easy control of compatible equipment with a remote GUI interface. An IEEE 1394 interface provides advanced connectivity, enabling direct digital transfer for DVD-A & SACD signals. The AV-R3000 also includes all of the standard audio decoder features (DTS Neo:6, DTS-ES Matrix 6.1, DTS-ES Discrete 6.1, DTS 96/24) and is equipped with Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital EX and a Dolby Pro Logic IIx Decoders. The receiver also features Dolby Virtual Speaker, Dolby Headphone and an HDCD/WMA Pro Decoder.
