The first European THX certified projection screen

Screen Research, a French company specialized in the conception and production of front projection screens, has just made a big step forward in the Home Theater market by obtaining THX certification for its Clearpix2 product line.

This certification, dedicated to high-end products, makes Screen Research the second international screen manufacturer (after Stewart FilmScreen Corp.) to receive from this significant quality label.

The ClearPix range, which consists exclusively of acoustically transparent projection screens, permits the speakers to be placed behind the screen without affecting the quality of either the audio or video. These screens do not produce any moiré effect when used either DLP or LCD projectors, unlike the micro perforated screens on the market.

In order to meet various requirements, the Clearpix2 product line from Screen Research consists of fixed frame and motorized screens, with both 1.33 and 1.77 aspect ratios and for picture sizes going from 70” (1.80m) to 120” (3.05m). It should be noted that different gains are available: matte white (0.95) for all types of projectors or in pearl grey (0.75).

SCREEN RESEARCH’S CLEARPIX2 PROJECTION SCREEN HAS OBTAINED THX CERTIFICATION

The ClearPix range consists exclusively of acoustically transparent projection screens with excellent audio and video characteristics. This range of acoustically transparent screens is also the only one compatible with fixed-pixel projectors such as DMD, DLP, LCD, or D-ILA.

THX certification recognizes ClearPix2’s quality, and guarantees: - Optimal image quality by adherence to the strict standards of color consistency, image uniformity across the projection surface, as well as gain and viewing angle. - Unequaled acoustic transparency which maintains the qualities of the speakers placed behind the screen.

The THX standard is attributed to exceptional products which meet the most demanding quality standards and which allow you to recreate the full Cinema sensation in your own home. For videoprojection screens, this certification is only applicable to acoustically transparent screens, which are the only ones which allow optimal placement of the speakers.

ClearPix 2 is the world’s second THX-certified projection screen. Additionally, ClearPix2 does not require acoustic correction due to its exceptionally acoustical transparency.

ClearPix2 is available for fixed-frame and motorized screens, in 16/9 and 4/3 aspect ratios, for image widths from 70" (1.80m) to 120” (3.05m). It is available in matte white (0.95 gain) for all types of projectors or in Pearl Grey (0.75 gain) for entry-level projectors, which helps guarantee better contrast or for very high-powered projectors.
