March 3rd, 2003. Optoma, the world renowned specialist in video broadcasting, is about to complete its "Theme Scene" Home Cinema line of video projectors, with the release of the new H56.

An exceptional Video Projector : The H56 features the very latest technologies in DLP, such as the DDR (Double Data Rate) and a precise electronic approach allowing an outstanding contrast ratio of 2000:1, while still maintaining an excellent luminosity with 1000 Lumens ANSI on a 20 feet wide screen!

Other features include : an XGA Matrix (1024x768 pixels), full HDTV compatibility, and a wide and well-furnished panel of connections (DVI, RGB HD 15 pegs, S-Video, Composite, RS 232, Audio).

The H56 has been optimised for a 16/9 use with a true-PAL source (for DVDs) (pixel by pixel) and delivers a sharper image using only a minor des-interlacing, which requires a simpler calculation.

The new H56 is built around a 6-segments chromatic wheel (with an x4 speed), and includes a Si504 progressive line doubler created by Silicon Image, allowing a highly efficient control of the contrast for each separate source.




The most demanding passionate will also fall for the H56's other qualities: An impressive silence while in use (only 32dB, a level equalling that of a noiseless room); A low weight (inferior to 7lbs), and a sober and elegant design.

Its use is also quite friendly: the exhaustive, interactive menu is easy to use, and the option of separating the Blue, Red and Green colour controls makes it ideal to set a coherent colour regulation on faces, natural spaces or scenes shot in interiors.
