DENON AVC 1850

Little Boy

You may remember we had reported, not long ago, that following the launch onto the Asian market of their AVC 1550, Denon had launched another audio-video amplifier – the AVC 1850.
In fact, its in order to compete with their adversary that we’d named as Onkyo (who in less than two months had launched four new machines), that Denon had presented this second integrated model.

Picking up on the general specifications of its little brother, the AVC 1850 will nevertheless be offering quality electronics. The "Little Boy", destined to the general public, houses the latest developments in terms of compatibility with the new audio formats of Dolby AAC, Prologic as well as (of course) DTS and Dolby Digital.

On the power side, the AVC 1850 delivers, without concession, 80 watts per channel under 8 ohms, and for those who might be tempted by speakers with an impedance of 6 ohms, the machine will pump out some 130 watts per channel.

Denon are announcing an immediate availability of the machine on the Asian market for a price of 66 000 yen (around 580 Euros), however , you’ll have to wait ‘till the kids go back to school before seeing it on the shop shelves in Europe.
