Sites for the auctioning of items between members of the public sometimes offer some nice surprises. Surfing on iBazar.fr, we discovered a series of offers of Home Cinema material of high quality, with literally exploded prices.

A certain number of items were also apparently placed by resellers finding the means here to bring in some extra cash flow at the end of the month. A number of items proposed had never been used and were still in their original packaging.

Don’t let this make you think that we’re talking here about totally obsolete machines dating from the golden age of the laserdisc, because a number of current day machines were on offer, such as the "troublemaker", the ONKYO TX-DS 787 (yes: the latest baby of the manufacturer!), brand spanking new and still in its blister pack, sold for 7,610 French francs (1,160 Euros) rather than the recommended retail price (RRP) of 11,990 French francs (1,830 Euros).

A great little amp "par excellence", DD & DTS as standard equipment, upgradable to 5.1, integrated tuner, numerous DSP modes and 5 x 100 Watts under foot. Surprising sound from a middle of the range machine.

- A YAMAHA DSP-AX1, never used, in gold finish, for 14,820 French francs (RRP: 19,990 francs)
The booming top of the line of the brand, DD & DTS inside, Matrix 6.1 et 6 channel amplification, totalling some 660 Watts (i.e.: 110 per channel).

- A ROTEL RSX-965 as new, with original packaging, and 14 months’ guarantee remaining, sold for 5,900 French francs, as opposed to the normal retail price of 10,000 French francs.
The first integrated unit from one of the most reputed top of the line hi-fi manufacturers, DD and DTS for this little marvel equipped with only the most carefully chosen components. Stereo listening to glorify the gods of the audiophiles.

- A MARANTZ SR-7000 new, never opened, knocked down to 2,700 French francs (RRP: 6,990 francs).
A very tasty DD & DTS amp/tuner which, even at its normal retail price is a real bargain for amateurs of great sound. But at this price…

- A SONY TA-E9000 amp/preamp. for the extraordinary price of 10,000 French francs (24,000 French francs new)
A must for almost two years. DD & DTS and the possibility of a wide range of parameters. The sound is reserved for partisans of very high definition, with "chiselled" high frequencies. A rather "Japanese" sound – neutral, almost cold, but with superb dynamics..

Remember that each one of these offers evolves with the higher bids effectuated by internauts, the prices increasing to the point of no longer being interesting.

That’s part of the game, but it’s always worth trying your hand. In addition, you should know that the bids are limited time-wise , so don’t lose too much of yours in the case that you may be interested by one of these adverts.
