Accessories manufacturer Lindy has announced a new HDMI Audio Extractor, designed to deliver stereo audio feeds from an HDMI connection.

The compact device measures just 8.5×8.5×3.5cm and offers HDMI video passthrough at Full HD 1080p. It comes with both analogue stereo audio outputs and an optical digital audio out.
It allows audio to be ’pulled from HDMI signal streams and fed out to an external amplifier. A switch on the side offers different audio output options, so you can choose HDMI 7,one-channel LPCM audio output, Dolby 5.1 on both HDMI and optical or all outputs active.
The device is powered by an offboard 5V power supply and includes power and link/sync indicators. , and is available now.
