Philips ProntoTunes control panel interface

Home control expert Philips Pronto has joined forces with Australian developer ProntoProject.com to develop ProntoTunes, which provides two-way control over Apple iTunes, Apple TV and Apple AirPort Express via a Philips Pronto control panel. The new application offers installers a feature-rich control application for Pronto control panels.

ProntoTunes’ two-way interface application gives installers a way to seamlessly control Apple iTunes, Apple TV and Apple Airport Express digital media via Pronto control panels from anywhere in the home.

The ProntoTunes application automatically discovers new media and instantly integrates it into the users’ media list. It will display cover art and its SmartCache functionality stores large data so it can be displayed instantly.

To ensure an immediate response time, ProntoTunes controls the AppleTV via IP, not IR and a signal indicator on the control panel provides feedback of signal strength.

ProntoTunes also enables multi-zone control over Apple iTunes, Apple TV and Apple Airport Express as zones can be switched and turned on/off with a touch of the control panel. Custom installers can assign custom volume controls to each library and zone as well as enable start-up commands for when switching libraries.

Rudy Musschebroeck, Marketing Manager for Philips Pronto said: “We are very excited to be able to offer our integrators a solution for one of the most widely used multi-media applications in the world. ProntoTunes, along with the growing amount of third party applications, provide our integrators with a great opportunity for future sales as well as the ability to go back to existing customers.”

ProntoTunes is compatible with TSU9400, TSU9600 and TSU9800 control panels and is available now. Certified Pronto installers may download the module at www.prontoprojects.com for $50 with a valid Pronto serial number.
