Californian accessories manufacturer iPort has announced the CM2000, an in-wall control mount for the iPad.
The company already produces a similar product for the iPod, and it allows the Apple iPad to be used as an in-wall touch panel control, with connection to your Wi-Fi network as well as continuous charging.
The CM2000 is backed by a series of downloadable home automation apps to operate networked audio, video, lighting and climate control systems.
Ashley Hutchinson, sales manager for iPort at UK distributor Armour Home, said: “When mounted in the CM2000, the iPad home button remains accessible, and the power button is cleverly replicated on the outer edge of the CM2000 frame.”
The CM2000 comes with a magnetic bezel assembly, mounting frame, connector and charging board with RJ-45 connector, power wall plate and power supply. It’s available now for £500.
