The ThinkFlood RedEye remote control, which allows an iPhone or iPod Touch to function as a universal remote has been announced for the UK.

It’s already available in the US but with the appointment of Armour Home as the device’s exclusive UK distributor it’s about to arrive here too.
The RedEye system, which costs £200, includes a combination charging dock and remote transmitter which can be connected to a home Wi-Fi network via a dedicated iPhone app.
With several levels of operation, it can be used to control individual devices or a complete system, either with a range of preset single commands or via a more complicated system that allows you to macro commands. It can even be used for multiroom control.
The screens for each component are fully customisable, so it’s always easy to recognise which device you’re controlling, and you can add new commands or components at any time.
There’s also a more affordable option in the shape of the RedEye Mini (pictured), which uses the same app, but is actually a tiny plug-in which slots into the iPhone’s headphone socket. It will also go on sale this month but will cost £50.
