TV wall mount manufacturer AVF has announced a new mount designed to handle flatscreen TVs of up to 80in and 80kg.

AVF says the Unimax is suitable for use with a wide variety of walls, from brick to plasterboard, and claims that its top-of-the-range model has been tested on plasterboard with weights of up to 300kg – much more than it would be required to hold with any TV.
The system uses one or more wall-mounting plates which can be fixed to walls made from plasterboard, wood and metal stud, brick or even concrete. Once fixed, the TV drops into the mount using the supplied attachments and locked in place.
The system places the screen 1.2cm from the wall, but can be adjusted to allow up to 4cm for cables if required.
There are two models available in the Unimax system. The £50 ZML2500 can handle TVs from 12-32in and 40kg, using a single mounting-plate, while the £100 ZML8500 uses two mounting plates for hanging TVs of up to 80in.
