Brit hi-fi brand Audiolab has announced two new dedicated CD players with the 8200CD and 8200CDQ.
The pair mark the first products in the company’s latest 8200 Series of audio components and both include their own DAC to augment the sound from both CD, and from other sources.
The 8200CD features a balanced, discrete, Class A output stage and bumps up Audiolab connectivity options with XLR outputs and a USB port so the device can be used to enhance the audio output from MP3 players or computers. Once connected, any PC or Mac can be controlled via the Audiolab remote.
There’s a choice of four digital filters on board to help tweak the sound and it uses the ultra-high-quality 32-bit Sabre DAC from ESS Technology with Audiolab’s own discrete master clock to maintain ultra-low jitter.
The 8200CDQ boasts the same spec as the 8200CD but adds a digital/analogue preamplifier into the same-sized chassis.
Both models will be available at the end of August, the 8200CD for £700, the 8200CDQ for £900.
