Pioneer has announced that its new iPod dock range will be called KODA.

The name comes from the Japanese for heartbeat, and will be used on all of the docks in Pioneer’s current and future range of iPod speaker systems.

The KODA range kicks off with four already announced models: the XW-NAC3, XW-NAC1, XW-NAV1 and XW-NAS5.

Both the XW-NAC3 (pictured) and XW-NAC1 include dual docks and the ability to shuffle between them, while the XW-NAV1 AV system comes with a built-in DVD player and 1080p HDMI upscaling. The new branding will also be attached to Pioneer’s original dock, the XW-NAS5 with its downward-firing subwoofer and Bluetooth streaming.

The Pioneer KODA range is available now exclusively from Apple stores.
