Philips has announced a range of new headphones in different styles, but all offering iPod/iPhone control. The new range includes over-ear, sports ear-clip and in-ear designs with the option of active noise cancellation.
Extra features include the ‘Angled Acoustic Pipe’, which Philips claims helps to deliver music directly into the correct part of the ear for optimum listening without excessive volume. They also include in-line control and microphone so you can answer calls, pause and change the volume without the need to remove iPod or iPhone from your pocket.
There are five models in all, with the pick of the bunch being the SHN6000 (£90) ear buds which claim to cut out 90 per cent of external noise thanks to active noise cancelling, with power derived directly from the iPod rather than a separate battery.
The SH8006 (£45) has sporty ear hooks so it won’t become dislodged during strenuous exercise and the SHL8005 (£50) is a full-cup headphone design with 400mm drivers and a gold-plated plug, as well as interchangeable caps with a selection of different designs.
The Philips SH headphone range is available now.
