Yamaha has announced two new 3D-capable, midrange multichannel receivers, the RX-V667 and RX-V767.
Both 7.1-channel receivers come with HDMI 1.4a connections and are capable of processing 3D video on Blu-ray. They also come with six HDMI inputs, while the RX-V667 has a single HDMI output and the RX-V767 has two. Power output on the RX-V667 is 7x 90W RMS and 7x 95W RMS on the RX-V767.
Both machines also have CinemaDSP 3D sound, full decoding of all the current high-definition audio formats and Yamaha’s YPAO auto set-up and Compressed Music Enhancer for improving the sound from MP3 players.
There’s the option to add an iPod dock via cable or wireless Bluetooth and Yamaha’s YBA-10 Bluetooth receiver also allows music to be streamed from a computer or iPod through the receivers.
There’s video upscaling to 1080p via HDMI in both cases, as well as a revamped video processor, new user interface, Adaptive Dynamic Range Control and Yamaha’s Silent Cinema technology which promises to deliver a multichannel surround effect through stereo headphones.
Also announced is the BD-S667 Blu-ray player, which isn’t 3D-capable, but offers HD audio decoding, bitstream and multichannel linear PCM output via HDMI, BD-Live, video upscaling to 1080p, xv Colour and Deep Colour.
The £450 RX-V667, £600 RX-V767 and the £299 BD-S667 should all be available by the end of July.
