The compact NaimUniti audio server has received an update to its playback potential. It now has support for 24Bit/96kHz (and 24/88.2) playback of WAV and FLAC files including fixed point 24 and 32-bit files as well as 32-bit floating point variants. The company admits however that playing back files with a sampling rate above 48kHz might not be at its best when using the NaimUniti’s wireless connection.
The update is available to existing NaimUniti owners from Naim retailers by a download (which requires a part RS232 and part browser connection and takes around 20 minutes to complete), though all new models will include the update as standard. To check, make sure the NaimUniti status screen shows the Version 2.00.00.
