Denon has announced its second universal Blu-ray player, the £1900 DBP-4010UD.
It will play Blu-ray and standard DVD discs, but can also handle DVD-Audio and SACD music discs as well as CDs, plus DivX, JPEG, MP3, WMA, AAC and WAV files from DVDs or SD memory cards via a front-panel reader.
BD-Live extras and firmware updates are available via Ethernet connection, and there’s a new SVH drive mechanism which Denon claims offers minimal vibration and ultra quiet operation.
Anchor Bay’s VRS video processing is on board for i/p conversion and 1080p scaling, as well as Denon’s Pixel Image Correction and digital noise reduction. There’s also a range of vibration-reducing technologies, including a multilayer chassis and the company’s Direct Mechanical Ground Construction, while the analogue and digital circuits are kept separate to ensure for optimal audio/video quality.
The DBP-4010UD offers a source direct setting, to output content directly in its original resolution.
Denon has incorporated its Advanced AL24 audio processing, and it can connect to compatible Denon receivers via the 4th-generation DenonLink.
The DBP-4010UD will be available in black or silver from the end of November for a estimated price of £1,900.
