Home Theater Packages

Quatre plasmas seront prochainement disponibles :
FPP-42WV20, 42 pouces d’une résolution de 852 x 480;
FPP-42HD20, 42 pouces d’une résolution 1024 x 768;
FPP-50HD20, 50 pouces d’une résolution 1366 x 768;
FPP-61HD20, 61 pouces d’une résolution 1366 x 768.

Trois projecteurs

CES 2004, LAS VEGAS, Jan. 8, 2004 — Faroudja, a division of Genesis Microchip Inc. (Nasdaq: GNSS) an industry leader in video-enhancing technologies for home theater and professional video applications will exhibit its recently introduced DVP4000 Digital Video Processor and expanded line of Home Theater Display Packages at CES, beginning today in Las Vegas.

The DVP4000 is a full-featured digital video processor offering HDTV cross-conversion technology, converting analog or digital 1080i HDTV to progressive 1080p, then scaling to the native resolution of the digital display (1366 x 768 for example), and outputting the signal digitally to DVI-compatible displays. Other HDTV rates of 480p and 720p are also cross-converted. This technology improves HDTV compatibility for the fast growing market of digital displays, including Plasma monitors and DLP, LCOS and LCD projectors.

Additionally, the DVP4000 integrates an internal DVD drive that offers a pure digital signal path from the DVD through the processor to the display, plus DVD-A and SACD compatibility. The DVP4000 also offers analog inputs for standard sources, such as satellite, cable and broadcast TV. This digital video processor is ideal for integrating all the video components in a home theater environment to insure the highest quality image from every video source.

Faroudja offers a complete line of high-performance video processors that utilize Faroudja’s suite of powerful video processing technologies—which includes 3:2 pull-down and DCDi™ deinterlacing—to dramatically improve the color, detail and motion in video for all types of large-screen digital displays. In addition to the DVP4000 ($14,995), other video processors include the NRS-DVI ($3,995), DVP1000 ($6,995), and DVP1500 ($9,995).

The Home Theater Display Packages combine Faroudja video processors with D-ILA, DLP and plasma display systems that have been “Theater Optimized” by Faroudja engineering for exceptional performance and simplified installation. By pre-aligning each system, Faroudja dealers can deliver very high quality images for each installation without the need to hire a video set-up expert.

New packages introduced at CES include four new plasma packages starting with the FPP-42WV20, featuring a 42-inch screen and a resolution of 852 x 480; the FPP-42HD20, with 42-inch screen and a resolution of 1024 x 768; the FPP-50HD20, with a 50-inch screen and resolution of 1366 x 768; and the FPP-61HD20, with a 61-inch screen at a resolution of 1366 x 768.

Each plasma package offers the newest plasma technology with improved contrast ratio and expanded set-up menu structure, plus a full four-year warranty. Faroudja applies custom set-up firmware to each package, and connects the processor and plasma via digital DVI. Packages are available with either the NRS-DVI or DVP1500 video processor at suggested retail prices from $9,995 to $35,995.

Faroudja’s Projector Packages have also been upgraded to include the new FDP-DLPHD20 with 1280 x 720 resolution, a single HD2+ DLP chip, an improved sealed light engine, and optics offering a contrast ratio up to 2800:1. The FDP-DLPHD20 is also available packaged with the DVP1500 for a pure digital stream from the internal DVD drive to the display via DVI.

Other projector packages include the FDP-DILA3 and FDP-DILA2. The FDP-DILA3 uses three 1400 x 1050 display chips based on D-ILA technology. The package includes a custom anamorphic lens to take full advantage of the high-resolution chips and available light output, and a choice of video processors. The FDP-DILA2, utilizing three 1365 x 1024 D-ILA chips with an anamorphic lens, is ideal for larger screen applications..

All packages are offered with either the DVP1500 or NRS-DVI video processor. All of Faroudja’s unique display packages deliver a state-of-the-art Home Theater experience and offer dealers and custom installers repeatable, predictable, high-performance solutions. Suggested retail prices range from $12,500 to $50,995. Faroudja’s video processors and digital display packages are available now from authorized Faroudja dealers and will be on display in Booth 17208, Las Vegas Convention Center, during CES.
