LAS VEGAS, January 7, 2008 – Sharp is showcasing two audio iPod® docking systems that allow users to play music directly from any iPod or iPhone while simultaneously recharging. With a sleek and innovative design, these units make a stylish addition into almost any décor with color options that include eye-catching, glossy white (models DK-A1P and DK-A10P) and sophisticated piano-black (models DK-A1PBK and DK-A10PBK). “The i-Elegance system marries the convenience and flexibility of the iPod with Sharp’s expertise in high-quality small audio systems,“ said Bob Pleyer, senior product marketing manager, audio, Entertainment Products Division, Sharp. “With its elegant design and enhanced sound features, the compact i-Elegance system is a great-looking, great sounding system, perfect for any music lover.” The portable units feature full-range bass reflex speakers with built-in side-firing subwoofers that illuminate and produce low-end frequencies to ensure a deep bass sound. The i-Elegance systems also feature an electronic equalizer that customizes sound based on the music genre and has a six-step mode to accurately adjust the sound for any type of music. For optimum sound quality, the units offer Esound, a digital signal processing technology that improves the quality of compressed digital music. By enhancing the sound frequency and increasing the sound pressure, Esound mode corrects deterioration to the sound quality that most compressed music experiences. Designed with slim rounded edges, these stereo systems can fit into small spaces, such as a shelf or side table. An AM/FM tuner provides radio playback for both models with the ability to program up to 32 favorite radio stations. The DK-A10P and DK-A10PBK add a front-loading CD slot that plays standard CDs in addition to CD-R/RW with MP3 and WMA files. Convenience features include a thin remote control, a built-in alarm clock and a sleep timer function so users can snooze or wake up to their favorite music.
The i-Elegance docking systems will work on all generations of the Apple iPod and iPhone. The units include an adaptor that guarantees a snug fit for any iPod model. Pricing and availability The DK-A1P and DK-A1PBK will be available in July for a Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) of $199.99 The DK-A10P and DK-A10PBK will be available in July for an MSRP of $299.99
