Digital music system offers cutting-edge design and high-fidelity sound

LAS VEGAS, January 7, 2008 – Sharp today expands its line of unique iPod® docking systems with a newly-designed series that provides high quality sound for any iPod or iPhone™. The compact DK-AP2 and DK-AP2BK audio systems can be toted from room to room, resulting in ultimate placement flexibility. With a sleek, triangular shape, the units fit nicely into tight spaces, whether on a small shelf or in corners. A contemporary design makes these systems a worthy addition to any home and the units are available in a striking, glossy white (DK-AP2) and sophisticated piano black (DK-AP2BK). “Reaching a wider consumer audience, these new models provide all the sound quality and aesthetic appeal of higher priced players at a competitive price,” said Bob Pleyer, senior marketing manager, audio, Entertainment Products Division, Sharp. “With the introduction of the DK-AP2/BK, consumers now have a uniquely-styled, lightweight docking system that provides clear, smooth sound so music lovers can hear their favorite tunes in any room.” At a mere 2.6 pounds, this series’ audio capabilities are not compromised by its size. It features full range bass reflex speakers with built-in side firing subwoofers that incorporate HDSS (high-definition sound standard) sound technology. For optimum sound quality, the DK-AP2/BK offers Esound, a digital signal processing technology that improves the quality of compressed digital music. By enhancing the sound frequency and increasing the sound pressure, Esound mode corrects deterioration to the sound quality that most compressed music experiences. The DK-AP2/BK also comes equipped with many convenience features, including a slim card-style remote that allows the user to control the docking system functions and connected iPod wirelessly. The unit supports other MP3 music players via an auxiliary-in jack, and can output video files from an iPod to a television via a video out jack. A truly portable player, the system runs on either batteries or AC power, making it easy for music lovers to listen to their digital music anywhere. The system can also be plugged in to an outlet. Pricing and availability The DK-AP2 is available now for a Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) of $109.99 The DK- AP2BK is available now for an MSRP of $109.99
